FORT WORTH - John Pierce Jr. stepped to the table and quietly
said, "I sure could use some reading glasses."
The 71 year-old was offered several pairs by volunteers with the
Room In the Inn, a program that gives homeless people shelter
during extreme weather months. Pierce tried on each pair, squinting
through the lenses.
The fist two pairs left his vision fuzzy; the third was a
winner.

In April 2012, US Department of Housing and Urban Development
released its HUD-VASH Best Practices 1.0 featuring the Fort Worth
Housing Authority as a Best Practice. The document goes into detail
about how FWHA reaches out to veterans and the ways FWHA find
affordable housing for those who sacrifices to protect our country.
