CoC Planning
As the lead agency in the Fort Worth/Arlington/Tarrant County
TX-601 Continuum of Care, HUD has charged TCHC with administrative,
financial, and monitoring responsibilities. Our main
purpose is to develop a long-term strategic plan and manage a
year-round planning effort that addresses the identified needs of
homeless individuals and households, the availabiling and
accessibility of existing housing and services, and the
opportunities for linkages with mainstream housing and services
resources.
TCHC is also responsible for applying for the annual HUD Continuum of
Care Grant. The application includes broad community
participation, identifying resources and gaps in services, action
steps to end homelessness, homeless prevention, and establishing
local funding priorities. We anticipate to receive $10.1
million from the 2009 submission, our highest amount yet,
which brings our total to $91 million brought into our
community to prevent and end homelessness since 1995.
