Career Services Database
Directions Home and the United Way of Tarrant County also funded
seven Job Specialist positions at Workforce Solutions of Tarrant
County, the Day Resource Center for the Homeless, and Texas
Re-Entry Services. Beginning in May 2010, these Job Specialists
assist case managers in finding jobs for their case management
clients. Job Specialists recruit employers to list positions for
people who have encountered homelessness and hold weekly job
placement orientations for clients.
Because the Job Specialists serve the entire Continuum of Care,
TCHC met the need for a centralized
Career Services Database in June 2010. As the Job Specialists
find appropriate jobs in our community, they add the positions to
the Career Services Database on our website. Job details include
education level, accepted backgrounds, veteran preference, and
licensure required.
Case managers can utilize this database to search for jobs that
meet the needs of their clients. When they find jobs of interest,
they can refer the client to the appropriate Job Specialist using
the provided contact information. The Job Specialists serve as the
contact for the employer and help case managers ready their
clients for work.
