Housing Search

PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW FOR GUIDANCE IN COMPLETING YOUR SEARCH.  The filters below will help you find the housing resources you need:

For your clients without Housing Vouchers search for:

  • "Project-Based programs" (assistance attached to the property) will be found under the housing category labeled"Assisted" and under the Resource Type labeled "Permanent Project-Based".  These properties do not need subsidy from the Housing Authority. The eligibility label for most of these resources is "Low-Moderate Income".  If you are looking for elderly project-based programs for those aged 62+, search the "Permanent (HUD 202)" properties under "Resource Type".  Their eligiblilty will be "Elderly".  Those who accept elderly OR disabled will have eligibility of "Elderly 62+ or disabled". The "Disabled" eligibility label is only for those properties with accommodations for clients with physical disabilities.

  • "Emergency or Transitional programs" provided by various agencies will be found under the housing category labeled "Assisted" and under the eligibility code that you are seeking information about (youth, single female, etc.).

  • "Tax Credit properties" (properties leased below fair market rent) will be found under the housing category labeled "Tax Credits".  The eligibility criteria will be"Low-Moderate Income" unless you are searching for a particular eligibility such as "elderly" or "disabled", etc. Tax credit properties can accept Section 8, S+C, or Directions Home vouchers, but a client does not have to be on a program to receive the discounted rent at these properties.

  • "Private Rentals" are located under the housing category labeled "Private Rental".  The eligibility is categorized as "Homeless" unless you are searching for a particular eligibility such as "elderly" or "disabled", etc.  The private properties listed may accept a person without a voucher. The"Disabled" category is only for those properties with accommodations for clients with physical disabilities.You may select more than one criteria for the eligibility category if you are unsure. Remember that each selection such as ABP or bedroom size can alter the outcome of your search.

For your clients with Housing Vouchers search for:

  • "Private Rentals" are located under the housing category labeled "Private Rental".  The eligibility is categorized as "Homeless" unless you are searching for a particular eligibility such as "elderly" or "disabled", etc.  The private properties listed accept Shelter Plus Care and Directions Home subsidy. The"Disabled" category is only for those properties with accommodations for clients with physical disabilities.You may select more than one criteria for the eligibility category if you are unsure. Remember that each selection such as ABP or bedroom size can alter the outcome of your search.
