Housing Search

You may find the Housing Decision Tree is a useful reference while working with clients. This document serves as a guide to the many available housing options in Tarrant County. You are free to download and print or save it for reference:

• Housing Decision Tree

In order to search the inventory with ease, please make note of the following:

• "Proj. Based programs" (assistance attached to the property or unit) will be found under "Assisted" and "Low to Mod. Income" searches. These do not require subsidy from the Housing Authority. Be sure to check the resource type (permanent, transitional, emergency, etc.) before searching.
•   "Tax credits" (rental discount properties) will be under "Income Based" searches unless you are searching for a particular eligibility such as "elderly" or "disabled", etc. Tax credit properties accept S+C and DH subsidy.
• "Private Rentals" are categorized as "homeless" unless you are searching for a particular eligibility such as "elderly" or "disabled", etc.  Private properties listed accept S+C and DH subsidy.
• "Disabled" category is only for those properties with accommodations for clients with physical disabilities.
• You may select more than one criteria for the eligibility category if you are unsure. 
• Remember that each selection such as ABP or bedroom size can alter the outcome of your search.
• To print, make your property selection and right click.  Select print.
