Day and Night Shelters in Tarrant County

When life's circumstances cause people to fall into homelessness, help is available! Many Tarrant County organizations have made it their mission to bring people out of homelessness.

Fort Worth Day Resource Center For The Homeless

The Day Resource Center for the Homeless is a day time refuge for those who are unfortunately homeless. While most community services available to the homeless are concerned with meal provision or night-time shelter, the Day Resource Center is unique by offering much needed resources and services, such as assistance with ID Scan cards, laundry, showers, phone/internet, mail, and specific client services & referrals during the day - the highest-risk time for those who are homeless.

Presbyterian Night Shelter of Tarrant County

Since its opening in 1984, the Presbyterian Night Shelter (PNS), located near the heart of downtown Fort Worth has served the needs of Tarrant County's homeless. The largest provider of services for the homeless, PNS is the only free area emergency shelter without length-of-stay restrictions.

Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County

The Union Gospel Mission has been serving the homeless in Fort Worth and Tarrant County for over 120 years. They provide shelter and client services for men, women, and families.

The Salvation Army

The J.E. and L.E. Mabee Center, the hub of Tarrant County operations, is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Along with the administrative functions for all of Tarrant County, The Mabee Center is the center of The Salvation Army's programs for the homeless and needy.

SafeHaven of Tarrant County has strived to end family violence through safety, support, prevention and social change in Tarrant County. There are two emergency shelter locations in Tarrant County available for victims of domestic violence and their families.

ACH Child and Family Services' Emergency Youth Shelter

ACH Child and Family Services is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children, youth and families in our community overcome life's challenges. One of its programs offers homeless and runaway youth, ages 10-17, emergency housing and care while ACH works to reunite them with their families, or find a safe and meaningful alternative living arrangement.

Shelter, meals and encouragement are provided to homeless men, women and children through a 72 hour stay or a structured nine-week program designed to return them to self-sufficiency.
